Scarlett recently had numerous doctor's appointments, starting with her 6 month well-baby check-up. She is a whopping 18 lbs. (80th percentile) and 27 1/2 inches long (95th percentile). The doctor cleared her to begin eating meats and pieces of cereal. Well, she really can't get cereal into her mouth by herself yet but she is picking up pieces and eating them when one of us puts one in her mouth. She also recently had her tongue clipped due to a short lingual frenulum. It really wasn't that tight but we opted to have it done now when it was a simple office procedure instead of having to sedate her if it did eventually effect her speech.
The big news was that Scarlett's ventricular septal defect (VSD) has closed on it's own!! Scarlett was born with a small hole in the tissue that separates the two ventricles of her heart and at our recent follow-up visit to the cardiologist all tests showed that the hole had spontaneously closed. We do not have to go back again (for this problem, and hopefully forever!).
Our little overachiever is already commando-crawling everywhere, and quickly, at the detriment of her big brother to get to his toys. She is just now sitting up without support but she can already stand while leaning against the back cushions of the couch. She has begun screaming, I mean singing loudly. It's really fun at restaurants :)

Glad you titled it that everything's OK b/c that pic looks a bit scary. Glad Scarlett is doing well. Sydney loves to scream in restaurants too! We'll have to get together soon!
